Rural Justice Scholarship
Scholarship for seniors in high school planning to attend a 2- or 4-year academic institution or current, undergraduate college students attending a 2- or 4-year academic institution.

CRITERIA TO APPLY:

Be graduates of high schools or homeschooled in one of the following NW Kansas counties: Ellis, Gove, Rooks, Trego, Rush, Russell, Phillips, Norton, Graham, Sheridan, Thomas, Logan, Scott, Lane, Ness, Barton, Osborne, and Smith.​

Have a minimum high school or college GPA of a 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.

Plans to be enrolled full-time at a 2- or 4-year college in Kansas for the 2026-2027 academic year.

Plans to attend law school after undergraduate studies and practice law in a rural area of Kansas (rural defined as any county in Kansas except Douglas, Johnson, Leavenworth, Sedgwick, Shawnee, or Wyandotte). *Preference will be given to applicants who intend to practice in one of the NW Kansas counties listed above.

Each year, the Ellis County Bar Association aims to make gifts to Ellis County, Kansas, area community organizations and fund scholarship opportunities for students. The gifts are part of the ECBA's continued efforts to positively impact the legal profession and related community services. Funds raised through member dues, enrollment in the ECBA Annual CLE program, and member donations help fund annual gifts.
